Acelerador lineal de partículas
Un acelerador de partículas lineal es un tipo de acelerador de partículas que aumenta en gran medida la velocidad de las partículas o iones subatómicos cargados sometiendo las partículas cargadas a una serie de potenciales eléctricos oscilantes a lo largo de una línea de luz lineal; Este método de aceleración de partículas fue inventado por Leó Szilárd. Fue patentado en 1928 por Rolf Widerøe, que también construyó el primer dispositivo operativo y fue influenciado por una publicación de Gustav Ising.
