Meta-ética
Meta-ética es la rama de la ética que busca entender la naturaleza de las propiedades éticas, declaraciones, actitudes y juicios. La meta-ética es una de las cuatro ramas de la ética generalmente reconocidas por los filósofos, siendo los otros la ética descriptiva, la ética normativa y la ética aplicada. Mientras que la ética normativa aborda preguntas tales como "¿Qué se debe hacer?", Respaldando así algunas evaluaciones éticas y rechazando a otras, la meta-ética aborda cuestiones como "¿Qué es la bondad?" Y "¿Cómo podemos saber qué es bueno de lo que es malo?", Buscando entender la naturaleza de las propiedades éticas y las evaluaciones. Algunos teóricos argumentan que una descripción metafísica de la moralidad es necesaria para la correcta evaluación de las teorías morales actuales y para tomar decisiones morales prácticas; Otros razonan desde premisas opuestas y sugieren que debemos impartir ideas de intuición moral a la acción apropiada antes de que podamos dar una descripción apropiada de la metafísica de la moral.
