Microforma
Las microformas son cualquier forma, ya sea películas o papel, que contiene microreproducciones de documentos para la transmisión, almacenamiento, lectura e impresión. Las imágenes de microforma se reducen comúnmente a aproximadamente un veinticinco del tamaño del documento original. Para propósitos especiales, se pueden usar mayores reducciones ópticas. Todas las imágenes microfórmicas se pueden proporcionar como positivos o negativos, más a menudo estos últimos. Tres formatos son comunes: microfilm, tarjetas de apertura y microficha.
