Farmacología
La farmacología es la rama de la medicina y la biología relacionada con el estudio de la acción del fármaco, donde un fármaco puede definirse ampliamente como cualquier molécula artificial, natural o endógena que ejerce un efecto bioquímico y / o fisiológico en la célula, tejido, órgano , U organismo. Más específicamente, es el estudio de las interacciones que se producen entre un organismo vivo y sustancias químicas que afectan la función bioquímica normal o anormal. Si las sustancias tienen propiedades medicinales, se consideran productos farmacéuticos. El campo comprende la composición y propiedades de los fármacos, síntesis y diseño de fármacos, mecanismos moleculares y celulares, mecanismos de órganos / sistemas, transducción de señales / comunicación celular, diagnóstico molecular, interacciones, toxicología, biología química, terapia y aplicaciones médicas y capacidades antipatógenas. Las dos áreas principales de la farmacología son la farmacodinámica y la farmacocinética. El primero estudia los efectos del fármaco sobre los sistemas biológicos y el segundo los efectos de los sistemas biológicos en el fármaco.
