QUÉ SIGNIFICA PHOTOSPHERE EN INGLÉS
Fotosfera
La fotosfera de un objeto astronómico es la profundidad de la cáscara externa de una estrella de la que se irradia la luz. El término en sí se deriva de raíces griegas antiguas, φῶς, φωτός / phos, fotos que significan "luz" y σφαῖρα / sphaira que significa "esfera", en referencia al hecho de que es una superficie esférica que se percibe emitir luz. Se extiende hasta la superficie de una estrella hasta que el plasma se vuelve opaco, equivalente a una profundidad óptica de aproximadamente 2/3. En otras palabras, una fotosfera es la región más profunda de un objeto luminoso, generalmente una estrella, que es transparente a los fotones de ciertas longitudes de onda.
