Plasmodesma
Plasmodesmata son canales microscópicos que atraviesan las paredes celulares de las células vegetales y algunas células algales, lo que permite el transporte y la comunicación entre ellos. Plasmodesmata evolucionó independientemente en varios linajes, y las especies que tienen estas estructuras incluyen miembros de las Charophyceae, Charales, Coleochaetales y Phaeophyceae, así como todos los embriofitas, más conocidos como plantas terrestres.
