QUÉ SIGNIFICA POLAROGRAPHY EN INGLÉS
Polarografía
La polarografía es una subclase de voltametría donde el electrodo de trabajo es un electrodo de mercurio que cae o un electrodo estático de gota de mercurio, que son útiles para sus amplias gamas catódicas y superficies renovables. Fue inventado por Jaroslav Heyrovský, por la que ganó el Premio Nobel en 1959.

La definición de polarografía en el diccionario es una técnica para analizar y estudiar iones en solución mediante el uso de una celda electrolítica con un cátodo muy pequeño y la obtención de un gráfico de la corriente contra el potencial para determinar la concentración y la naturaleza de los iones. Debido a que el cátodo es pequeño, se produce polarización y cada tipo de anión se descarga con un potencial diferente. El aparato generalmente emplea un cátodo de mercurio goteante.
