Post-estructuralismo
El post-estructuralismo es una etiqueta formulada por académicos americanos para denotar las obras heterogéneas de una serie de filósofos y teóricos críticos franceses y continentales de mediados del siglo XX que alcanzaron prominencia internacional en los años sesenta y setenta. Un tema importante del post-estructuralismo es la inestabilidad en las ciencias humanas, debido a la complejidad de los humanos mismos ya la imposibilidad de escapar completamente a las estructuras para estudiarlas. El post-estructuralismo es una respuesta al estructuralismo. El estructuralismo es un movimiento intelectual desarrollado en Europa desde principios hasta mediados del siglo XX. Argumentaba que la cultura humana puede entenderse por medio de una estructura modelada en el lenguaje -que difiere de la realidad concreta y de las ideas abstractas- un "tercer orden" que media entre los dos. Los autores post-estructuralistas presentan diferentes críticas al estructuralismo, pero los temas comunes incluyen el rechazo de la autosuficiencia de las estructuras que plantea el estructuralismo y un interrogatorio de las oposiciones binarias que constituyen esas estructuras.
