Factor Q
En física e ingeniería, el factor de calidad o factor Q es un parámetro adimensional que describe cómo un oscilador o resonador con amortiguación insuficiente es, o equivalente, caracteriza el ancho de banda de un resonador en relación con su frecuencia central. Un Q más alto indica una tasa menor de pérdida de energía con respecto a la energía almacenada del resonador; Las oscilaciones mueren más lentamente. Un péndulo suspendido de un cojinete de alta calidad, que oscila en el aire, tiene un Q alto, mientras que un péndulo inmerso en el aceite tiene un bajo. Los resonadores con factores de alta calidad tienen amortiguación baja para que suene más.
