QUÉ SIGNIFICA QUANTUM EFFICIENCY EN INGLÉS
Eficiencia cuántica
El término eficiencia cuántica puede aplicarse a la relación de fotones incidentes a electrones convertidos, de un dispositivo fotosensible o puede referirse al efecto TMR de una unión de túneles magnéticos. En un dispositivo de carga acoplada es el porcentaje de fotones que golpea la superficie fotorreactiva del dispositivo que produce portadores de carga. Se mide en electrones por fotón o amperios por vatio. QE es una medida de la sensibilidad eléctrica de un dispositivo a la luz. Puesto que la energía de un fotón es inversamente proporcional a su longitud de onda, QE se mide a menudo sobre una gama de diversas longitudes de onda para caracterizar la eficacia de un dispositivo en cada nivel de energía del fotón. El QE de los fotones con energía por debajo del intervalo de banda es cero. La película fotográfica típicamente tiene un QE de mucho menos del 10%, mientras que los CCD pueden tener un QE de bien más del 90% en algunas longitudes de onda.
