Retinoscopia
La retroscopia es una técnica para obtener una medida objetiva del error refractivo de los ojos de un paciente. El examinador usa un retinoscopio para iluminar el ojo del paciente y observa el reflejo de la retina del paciente. Mientras se mueve la raya o mancha de luz a través de la pupila, el examinador observa el movimiento relativo del reflejo, luego usa un phoropter o coloca manualmente las lentes sobre el ojo para "neutralizar" el reflejo. La retinoscopia estática es un tipo de retinoscopia que se utiliza para determinar el error refractivo de un paciente. Se basa en el principio de Foucault, que establece que el examinador debe simular el infinito óptico para obtener la potencia refractiva correcta. Por lo tanto, se resta una potencia correspondiente a la distancia de trabajo del valor de retinoscopia bruta para dar la condición de refracción del paciente, siendo la lente de distancia de trabajo una distancia focal de la distancia del examinador del paciente. Los miopes muestran un reflejo "contra", lo que significa que la dirección del movimiento de la luz observada desde la retina es una dirección diferente a aquella en la que el haz de luz es barrido.
