La versión revisada de la Biblia es una revisión británica de finales del siglo XIX de la versión King James de 1611. Fue la primera y sigue siendo la única revisión oficialmente autorizada y reconocida de la Biblia King James. El trabajo fue confiado a más de 50 académicos de diversas denominaciones en Gran Bretaña. Los eruditos americanos fueron invitados a cooperar, por correspondencia. El Nuevo Testamento fue publicado en 1881, el Antiguo Testamento en 1885 y el Apócrifo en 1894. Los más conocidos de los miembros del comité de traducción fueron Brooke Foss Westcott y Fenton John Anthony Hort; Su más feroz crítico de ese período fue John William Burgon.
