Motor de cohete
Un motor de cohete, o simplemente "cohete", es un motor a reacción que utiliza solamente la masa propulsora almacenada para formar su chorro propulsor de alta velocidad. Los motores de cohetes son motores de reacción y obtienen empuje de acuerdo con la tercera ley de Newton. Dado que no necesitan material externo para formar su chorro, los motores de cohetes pueden usarse tanto para la propulsión de naves espaciales como para usos terrestres, como misiles. La mayoría de los motores de cohetes son motores de combustión interna, aunque también existen formas de no combustión. Los motores de cohetes como grupo tienen las velocidades de escape más altas, son de lejos los más ligeros, pero son los menos propulsores eficientes de todos los tipos de motores a reacción.
