Un arco de desviación es un método de construcción que permite que un puente de arco cubra un obstáculo en algún ángulo distinto de un ángulo recto. Esto resulta en que las caras del arco no son perpendiculares a sus pilares y su vista en planta es un paralelogramo, en lugar del rectángulo que es la vista en planta de un arco regular o "cuadrado". En el caso de un arco inclinado de mampostería, la construcción requiere tallado preciso, ya que ninguno de los cortes forman ángulos rectos, pero una vez que los principios fueron plenamente comprendidos a principios del siglo XIX se hizo considerablemente más fácil y más barato construir un arco de ladrillo de ladrillo.
