Pronunciación de Spelling
Una pronunciación ortográfica es la pronunciación de una palabra de acuerdo con su ortografía, en desacuerdo con una pronunciación estándar o tradicional. Las palabras deletreadas con letras silenciosas, o tradicionalmente pronunciadas con vocales reducidas o consonantes omitidas, pueden estar sujetas a una pronunciación ortográfica. Si la ortografía de una palabra se normalizó antes de los cambios de sonido que produjeron su pronunciación "tradicional", una pronunciación ortográfica puede reflejar una pronunciación aún más antigua. Esto suele ser el caso de las palabras compuestas. También es el caso de muchas palabras con letras silenciosas, aunque no todas las cartas silenciosas se añaden a veces por razones etimológicas, para reflejar la ortografía de una palabra en su lengua de origen.
