Un esferómetro es un instrumento para la medida precisa del radio de una esfera. Originalmente, estos instrumentos fueron utilizados principalmente por ópticos para medir la curvatura de la superficie de una lente. La forma habitual consiste en un tornillo fino que se mueve en una tuerca llevada en el centro de una pequeña mesa o marco de tres patas; Formando los pies los vértices de un triángulo equilátero.
