Estereoscopio
Un estereoscopio es un dispositivo para ver un par estereoscópico de imágenes separadas, que representan las vistas de ojo izquierdo y ojo derecho de la misma escena, como una única imagen tridimensional. Un estereoscopio típico proporciona a cada ojo una lente que hace que la imagen vista a través de ella aparezca más grande y más distante y por lo general también cambia su posición horizontal aparente, de modo que para una persona con percepción de profundidad binocular normal los bordes de las dos imágenes aparentemente se fusionan en una "Ventana estéreo". En la práctica actual, las imágenes se preparan para que la escena aparezca más allá de esta ventana virtual, a través de la cual a veces se permite que los objetos sobresalgan, pero esto no siempre fue la costumbre. Normalmente se proporciona un divisor u otra característica de limitación de la vista para evitar que cada ojo se distraiga viendo también la imagen destinada al otro ojo.
