QUÉ SIGNIFICA STRUCTURALISM EN INGLÉS
Estructuralismo
El estructuralismo es un paradigma teórico en la sociología, la antropología, la lingüística y la semiótica postulando que los elementos de la cultura humana deben ser entendidos en términos de su relación con un sistema o estructura más grande. Trabaja para descubrir las estructuras que subyacen a todas las cosas que los seres humanos hacen, piensan, perciben y sienten. Por otra parte, como lo resume el filósofo Simon Blackburn, el estructuralismo es "la creencia de que los fenómenos de la vida humana no son inteligibles sino a través de sus interrelaciones." Estas relaciones constituyen una estructura y detrás de las variaciones locales de los fenómenos superficiales hay constantes leyes de la cultura abstracta. El estructuralismo se originó a principios del siglo XX, en la lingüística estructural de Ferdinand de Saussure y las subsiguientes escuelas de lingüística de Praga, Moscú y Copenhague. A finales de los años cincuenta y principios de los 60, cuando la lingüística estructural se enfrentaba a serios retos de los gustos de Noam Chomsky y, por lo tanto, se desvanecía en importancia, una serie de académicos en las humanidades tomó prestados los conceptos de Saussure para su uso en sus respectivos campos de estudio.
