En sociología y estudios culturales, una subcultura es un grupo de personas dentro de una cultura que se diferencia de la cultura más grande a la que pertenecen. El término subcultura ha desaparecido entre algunos investigadores, que prefieren el término co-cultura, para evitar las connotaciones de inferioridad asociadas al prefijo "sub-". Aunque las definiciones exactas varían, el Oxford English Dictionary define el término como "un grupo cultural dentro de una cultura más grande, a menudo teniendo creencias o intereses en desacuerdo con los de la cultura más grande". In sociology, and cultural studies, a subculture is a group of people within a culture that differentiates themselves from the larger culture to which they belong. The term subculture has become deprecated among some researchers, who prefer the term co-culture, in order to avoid the connotations of inferiority associated with the "sub-" prefix. While exact definitions vary, the Oxford English Dictionary defines the term as "a cultural group within a larger culture, often having beliefs or interests at variance with those of the larger culture."...
