Sukkot, Sucot o Sukkos es una fiesta judía bíblica celebrada el día 15 del mes de Tishrei. Es uno de los tres festivales bíblicamente ordenados Shalosh regalim en el cual a los hebreos se les ordenó hacer una peregrinación al Templo de Jerusalén. La fiesta dura siete días. El primer día es un sábado yom tov cuando el trabajo es prohibido, seguido por el intermedio Chol Hamoed y Shemini Atzeret. La palabra hebrea sukkōt es el plural de sukkah, "cabina o tabernáculo", que es una estructura amurallada cubierta con schach. La sucá pretende ser una reminiscencia del tipo de viviendas frágiles en las que los israelitas vivieron durante sus 40 años de viaje en el desierto después del éxodo de la esclavitud en Egipto. Durante las vacaciones, las comidas se comen dentro de la sucá y algunas personas duermen allí también. En cada día del día de fiesta, los miembros del hogar recitan una bendición sobre el lulav y el etrog. Según el profeta Zacarías, en la era mesiánica Sukkot se convertirá en una fiesta universal y todas las naciones realizarán peregrinaciones anualmente a Jerusalén para celebrar la fiesta allí.
