Los sincronizadores, a diferencia de los árbitros, son propensos al fracaso. ▪ En la electrónica, cuando hay transferencia de señal entre dos sistemas que funcionan a diferentes frecuencias o la misma frecuencia con fases diferentes, el bloque sincronizador se utiliza como interfaz para que la señal del bloque transmisor sea interpretada de manera fiable por el receptor. El bloque usualmente usa flaps endurecidos metastables que ofrecen retardo de latencia simple o doble en la salida. Este bloque asegura que no hay metaestabilidad para un MTBF objetivo, es decir, Tiempo Medio Entre Fallos ▪ En la edición de películas, un sincronizador es un dispositivo para alinear múltiples tiras de película en un dispositivo de reproducción o edición.
