Sincroscopio
En los sistemas eléctricos de corriente alterna, un sincroscopio es un dispositivo que indica el grado en que dos sistemas están sincronizados entre sí. Para que dos sistemas eléctricos se sincronicen, ambos sistemas deben funcionar a la misma frecuencia, y el ángulo de fase entre los sistemas debe ser cero. Los sincroscopios miden y muestran la diferencia de frecuencia y el ángulo de fase entre dos sistemas de potencia. Sólo cuando estas dos cantidades son cero es seguro conectar los dos sistemas juntos. La conexión de dos sistemas de alimentación de CA no sincronizados es probable que provoquen corrientes altas, lo que dañará gravemente cualquier equipo que no esté protegido por fusibles o disyuntores.
