Las Actas de Prueba fueron una serie de leyes penales inglesas que sirvieron como prueba religiosa para cargos públicos e impusieron diversas discapacidades civiles a los católicos y no conformistas romanos. El principio era que nadie más que las personas que profesaban la Iglesia Establecida eran elegibles para el empleo público, y las severas penas pronunciadas contra los recusantes, ya fueran católicos o no conformistas, eran afirmaciones de este principio. En la práctica, los no conformistas estaban a menudo exentos de algunas de estas leyes mediante la aprobación regular de las Actas de Indemnización.
