Dilatación del tiempo
En la teoría de la relatividad, la dilatación del tiempo es una diferencia real entre el tiempo transcurrido entre dos eventos, medido por los observadores moviéndose unos respecto a otros o diferentemente situados de las masas gravitatorias. Un reloj preciso en reposo con respecto a un observador se puede medir para marcar en una tarifa diferente cuando está comparado a los relojes igualmente exactos de un segundo observador. Este efecto no surge ni de los aspectos técnicos de los relojes, ni del hecho de que las señales necesitan tiempo para propagarse, sino de la propia naturaleza del espacio-tiempo.
