अनेक रुपों में भारतवर्ष में आता है । कुहुर जकरं, कुहगुर उनस,
कुहुर शफ, कुहुकशफा आदि इसी के भेद हैं । इनमें से कई
दबा के काम में आते हैं । इनमें लोबानकशफा, जिसे धुप
भी कहते हैं, भारतवर्ष में लोबान के नाम से बिक्रता है ।
यह गोंद वृक्ष की छाल के साथ लगा रहता है । अरभ
से लोबान बंबई आता है । वहाँ छाँट छाँटकर उसके भेद
किए जाते हैं । जो पीले रंग की बुँदा के रुप के साफ दाने
होते हैं, वे कौड़िया कहलाते हैं । उनको छआँटकर युरोप भेज
देते हैं तथा मिला जुला औऱ चुरा भारतवर्ष और चीन के
लिये रख लेते हैं ।एक और प्रकार का लोबान जावा, सुमात्रा
आदि स्थानों से आता है, जिसे जाबी लोबान कहते हैं ।
युरोप में इससे एक प्रकार का क्षार बनाया जाताहै जिसे
वैजोइक एसिड कहते हैं । लोबान प्रायः जलाने के काम में
लाया जाता है, जिससे सुंगंधित धुआँ निकलता है । वैद्यक में
कुहुरपलोबान का प्रयोग सुजाक में और जावी लोबान का प्रयोग
खाँसी में होता है । यह अधिकतर मरहम के काम में लाया
जाता है ।
