Edmund Husserl - matemático y filósofo alemán, uno de los principales creadores de la fenomenología. Estudió matemáticas, física, filosofía y astronomía en Leipzig. En 1876 estudió en la Universidad de Berlín, estudiando filosofía y matemáticas. En Viena en 1881 asistió a las conferencias de Franz Brentano, que tuvieron una gran influencia en su filosofía posterior. En 1883 obtuvo su doctorado para el trabajo sobre cálculo de varianza.
