© es la duodécima letra del alfabeto turco. Contrario a lo conocido y practicado, viene antes de la letra I de acuerdo con la ley de aceptación y aplicación de las letras turcas 1353. Está escrito en mayúscula i, minúscula i, y este es un gran problema en la computadora o teléfonos móviles. Cuando se cambió el alfabeto en el período republicano, se requirió una letra para representar la voz I, y había una solución que no confundiría al jefe de la gente, por lo que las letras se recrearon como I y II para representar la voz. Hoy estas dos letras solo se usan en turco y otros dialectos turcos.

Büyük harf olarak İ, küçük harf olarak ise i şeklinde yazılır, ve bu gerek bilgisayar gerek ise mobil telefonlarda büyük problem yaratmaktadır. Cumhuriyet döneminde alfabe değiştirildiğinde hem I sesini temsil etmesi gereken bir harf gerekliydi hem de halkın kafasını karıştırmayacak bir çözüm bulunmalıydı, bu nedenle i sesini temsil etmesi için harfler İi ve Iı olarak tekrar yaratıldı. Bugün bu iki harf sadece Türkçe ve diğer Türk lehçelerinde kullanılır.
