Om es la sílaba más santificada del hinduismo y las palabras que se cree que son religiosas o místicas en la mayoría de los sistemas de creencias de la India. En el idioma sánscrito, está compuesto por la voz de my la voz del a y tu que dan esa voz. Om hecesi, felsefi veda metinleri olan Upanishadların birçoğunda ele alınır; bunlardan Mandukya tümüyle bir heceye ayrılmıştır. Yoga uygulamalarında da kullanılan Om sözlü meditasyon teknikleriyle ilişkilidir.
