Les ongulés à ongle (Artiodactyla) sont des ongulés (les animaux à coque) dont le poids est porté à peu près par les troisième et quatrième orteils, plutôt que principalement ou entièrement par le tiers, comme dans les ongulés impairs (perissodactyles), comme les chevaux. L'Artiodactyla provient de (grec: ἄρτιος (artitios), "even", et δάκτυλος (dáktylos), "finger / toe"), donc le nom "even-toed" est une traduction de la description. Ce groupe comprend les porcs, les pecaris, les hippopotames, les chameaux, les lamas, les chevrotains (cerfs de souris), les cerfs, les girafes, les pronghorn, les antilopes, les moutons, les chèvres et les bovins. Le groupe exclut les baleines (Cetacea) même si les données de séquence d'ADN indiquent qu'ils partagent un ancêtre commun, ce qui rend le groupe paraphylétique. Le groupe phylogénétiquement précis est Cetartiodactyla (de Cetacea + Artiodactyla). Il existe environ 220 espèces d'artiodactyle, dont beaucoup sont d'une grande importance alimentaire, économique et culturelle pour les humains. Une autre caractéristique distinctive du groupe est la forme de l'astragale (talus), un os dans l'articulation de la cheville, qui a une structure à double poulie. Cela donne au pied une plus grande flexibilité.
