Noir carbone
Le noir de carbone est un matériau produit par la combustion incomplète de produits pétroliers lourds tels que le goudron de FCC, le goudron de houille, le goudron de craquage d'éthylène et une petite quantité d'huile végétale. Le noir de carbone est une forme de carbone paracrylique qui a un rapport surface-volume élevé, bien que inférieur à celui du charbon actif. Il est différent de la suie dans son rapport surface-volume beaucoup plus élevé et une teneur en HAP significativement plus faible. L'exposition à court terme à de fortes concentrations de poussière de noir de carbone peut provoquer une gêne dans les voies respiratoires supérieures, par irritation mécanique.
