Tineidae
Tineidae est une famille de mites dans l'ordre des lépidoptères. Collectivement, ils sont connus sous le nom de champignons de champignons ou de mites de tineid. La famille contient plus de 3 000 espèces dans plus de 300 genres. La plupart des tineid moth sont petites ou moyennes, avec des ailes tenues sur le dessus du corps au repos. Ils sont particulièrement fréquents dans le Paléarctique, mais beaucoup se produisent ailleurs, et certains sont très largement considérés comme des espèces introduites. Les tineides sont inhabituels chez les lépidoptères car les larves d'un très petit nombre d'espèces se nourrissent de plantes vivantes, la majorité se nourrissant de champignons, de lichens et de détritus. Les membres les plus familiers de la famille sont les mites de vêtements, qui ont été adaptées pour se nourrir de tissus stockés. La plus répandue de ces espèces est la mite de vêtements commune, la mite de vêtements portant des articles et la mite de tapis; La mite de vêtements marron-pointillée malgré son nom, se nourrit de plumes préférentiellement sur les nids d'oiseaux. Un genre remarquable est Ceratophaga, dont les membres se nourrissent exclusivement de la kératine pure sous la forme de cornes et de sabots de mammifères morts et même des coquilles de tortues mortes.
