Les Coraciiformes sont un groupe d'oiseaux passerelles presque colorés, notamment les martins-pêcheurs, les abeilleurs, les rouleaux, les motoneiges et les todies. Ils ont généralement syndactyly, avec trois versets orientés vers l'avant, bien que dans de nombreux martins-pêcheurs, l'un d'eux manque.
