Déviation
Un déviationniste est une personne qui exprime une déviation: une anomalie ou un départ. Dans le stalinisme, le déséquilibre est une croyance exprimée qui n'est pas conforme à la doctrine officielle du parti pour l'heure et le domaine. Les accusations de déviation ont souvent conduit à des purges. Les formes de déviationnisme comprenaient le révisionnisme, le dogmatisme, le nationalisme bourgeois et le cosmopolitisme sans racine. Par exemple, Mao Zedong, dans un discours de 1953, a mentionné les déviationnistes «à gauche» et «droite». Des années plus tard, en 1976, le soi-disant Gang of Four s'opposerait au «déviationnisme de droite».
