Dilatome
Un dilatomètre est un instrument scientifique qui mesure les changements de volume causés par un processus physique ou chimique. Une application familière d'un dilatomètre est le thermomètre à mercure dans le verre, dans lequel la variation de volume de la colonne liquide est lue à partir d'une échelle graduée. Étant donné que le mercure a un taux d'expansion relativement constant sur les plages de température normales, les changements de volume sont directement liés à la température.
