Papier électronique
Le papier électronique, le papier électronique et l'encre électronique sont des technologies d'affichage conçues pour imiter l'apparence de l'encre ordinaire sur papier. Contrairement aux écrans plats rétro-éclairés conventionnels qui émettent de la lumière, les écrans de papier électroniques reflètent la lumière comme un papier ordinaire, ce qui rend la lecture plus confortable et donne à la surface un angle de vision plus large par rapport aux affichages conventionnels. Le taux de contraste dans les affichages disponibles à partir de 2008 pourrait être décrit comme similaire à celui du journal, bien que les écrans nouvellement développés soient légèrement meilleurs. Un affichage e-paper idéal peut être lu sous la lumière directe du soleil sans que l'image ne se fade. Beaucoup de technologies de papier électronique peuvent contenir du texte et des images statiques indéfiniment sans utiliser d'électricité. Le papier électronique flexible utilise des supports en plastique et des composants électroniques en plastique pour le fond de panier d'affichage.
