Système Eutectique
Un système eutectique du grec "ευ" et "Τήξις" est un mélange de composés chimiques ou d'éléments qui ont une seule composition chimique qui se solidifie à une température inférieure à toute autre composition constituée des mêmes ingrédients. Cette composition est connue sous le nom de composition eutectique et la température à laquelle elle se solidifie est connue sous le nom de température eutectique. Sur un diagramme de phase, l'intersection de la température eutectique et de la composition eutectique donne le point eutectique. Les mélanges non-eutectiques afficheront la solidification d'un composant du mélange avant l'autre. Tous les alliages binaires ne présentent pas un point eutectique; Par exemple, dans le système argent-or, la température de fusion et la température de congélation augmentent monotoniquement à mesure que le mélange passe de l'argent pur à l'or pur.
