Freeanisme
Le freeganisme est la pratique consistant à récupérer et à manger des aliments qui ont été jetés. Les freegans et le freeganisme sont souvent considérés comme faisant partie d'une idéologie «anti-consommatrice» plus large, et les freegans utilisent souvent une gamme de stratégies de vie alternative basées sur une participation limitée à l'économie conventionnelle et une consommation minimale de ressources. Freegans "embrasse la communauté, la générosité, les préoccupations sociales, la liberté, la coopération et le partage en opposition à une société fondée sur le matérialisme, l'apathie morale, la concurrence, la conformité et la cupidité". Le mot «freegan» est un portail de «libre» et «végétalien»; Pas tous les plongeurs sont végétaliens, mais l'idéologie du végétalisme est inhérente au freeganisme. Le freeganisme a commencé au milieu des années 1990, à partir des mouvements antiglobalization et environmentalist. Le mouvement a également des éléments de Diggers, un groupe de théâtre de rue anarchiste basé à Haight-Ashbury à San Francisco dans les années 1960, qui a donné des aliments secourus.
