Halogène
Les halogènes ou les éléments halogènes sont un groupe dans le tableau périodique composé de cinq éléments chimiquement liés: le fluor, le chlore, le brome, l'iode et l'astatine. L'élément crée artificiellement 117 peut également être un halogène. Dans la nomenclature IUPAC moderne, ce groupe est connu sous le nom de groupe 17. Le groupe d'halogènes est le seul groupe de table périodique qui contient des éléments dans les trois états familiers de la matière à la température et à la pression standard. Tous les halogènes forment des acides lorsqu'ils sont liés à l'hydrogène. La plupart des halogènes sont généralement produits à partir de minéraux ou de sels. Les halogènes du milieu, c'est-à-dire le chlore, le brome et l'iode, sont souvent utilisés comme désinfectants. Les halogènes sont également tous toxiques.
