Goldenseal
Goldenseal, également appelé orangeroot ou puccoon jaune, est une plante herbacée vivace dans la Ranunculaceae de la famille des bourrelettes, originaire du sud-est du Canada et du nord-est des États-Unis. On peut le distinguer par son porte-greffe noyée épaisse et jaune. La tige est violacée et velue au-dessus du sol et jaune au-dessous du sol où elle se connecte au rhizome jaune. La plante porte deux feuilles palmées et velues avec 5-7 lobes à double dent et des fleurs simples, petites et peu visibles avec des étamines blancs verdâtres à la fin du printemps. Il porte une baie unique comme une grande framboise avec 10 à 30 graines en été. Goldenseal a été attribué les propriétés à base de plantes suivantes: amère, hépatique, alterative, anticatarrhal, anti-inflammatoire, antimicrobien, laxatif, emmenagogue et oxytocique. Goldenseal est souvent utilisé comme un remède polyvalent, et on pense qu'il possède de nombreuses propriétés médicinales différentes. En plus d'être utilisé comme antimicrobien topique, il est également pris en interne comme aide à la digestion. Goldenseal peut être acheté en pommade, en comprimé, en forme de teinture ou en poudre en vrac.
