Louis XVII de France
Louis XVII, de naissance à 1789 connu sous le nom de Louis-Charles, duc de Normandie; Puis de 1789 à 1791 comme Louis-Charles, Dauphin de France; Et de 1791 à 1792, Louis-Charles, prince royal de France, était le fils cadet du roi Louis XVI de France et la reine Marie-Antoinette. En tant que fils du roi, il était Fils de France. Son frère aîné, Louis Joseph, est mort en juin 1789, quelques semaines avant le début de la Révolution française. Ses parents ont été exécutés pour trahison sous la première république faisant du successeur nominal Louis-Charles, nouvellement orphelin, de huit ans, à un trône aboli. Conformément à l'ordre dynastique, lorsque son père a été exécuté le 21 janvier 1793, pendant la période médiane de la Révolution française, il est devenu le roi de France et de Navarre aux yeux des royalistes. Cependant, puisque la France était à ce moment-là la Première République française et Louis XVII avaient été emprisonnés depuis le mois d'août 1792 jusqu'à sa mort par maladie en 1795 à l'âge de 10 ans, il n'était jamais officiellement roi, et il ne gouvernait pas. Son titre a été accordé par ses partisans royalistes et implicitement par l'adoption par Louis XVIII du titre Louis XVIII plutôt que par Louis XVII.
