Ganglion lymphatique
Un ganglion lymphatique est un organe ovale du système lymphatique, distribué largement dans tout le corps, y compris l'aisselle et l'estomac et lié par des vaisseaux lymphatiques. Les ganglions lymphatiques sont des sites majeurs de B, T et d'autres cellules immunitaires. Les ganglions lymphatiques agissent comme des filtres ou des pièges pour des particules étrangères et sont importants dans le bon fonctionnement du système immunitaire. Ils sont emballés étroitement avec les globules blancs appelés lymphocytes et macrophages. Les ganglions lymphatiques ont également une signification clinique. Ils deviennent enflammés ou élargis dans diverses infections et maladies qui peuvent varier d'une infection banale, comme une infection à la gorge, jusqu'à une menace pour la vie, comme les cancers. Dans ce dernier cas, l'état des ganglions lymphatiques est si important qu'il est utilisé pour le stade du cancer, qui décide du traitement à employer et pour déterminer le pronostic. Lorsqu'ils sont enflés, enflammés ou agrandis, les ganglions lymphatiques peuvent être durs, fermes ou tendre. Les ganglions lymphatiques ne sont pas impliqués dans le système du corps pour traiter la toxicité avec laquelle le foie et les reins traitent. Le système lymphatique est structuré pour traiter les infections biologiques, ainsi que les pannes biologiques ou les erreurs dans le corps, comme dans la réponse au cancer.
