Necrophilia, également appelée thanatophilia ou necrolagnia, est l'attraction sexuelle pour les cadavres. Il est classé comme paraphilie par le Manuel diagnostique et statistique de l'American Psychiatric Association. Le mot dérive des mots grecs: νεκρός et φιλία. Le terme a été inventé par l'aliéniste belge Joseph Guislain, qui l'a utilisé pour la première fois dans une conférence en 1850. Rosman et Resnick ont examiné l'information provenant de 34 cas de nécrophilie décrivant les motivations des individus pour leurs comportements: ces individus ont déclaré avoir envie de posséder un non- Partenaire résistant et non-rejetant, réunion d'un partenaire romantique, attraction sexuelle des cadavres, confort ou dépassement des sentiments d'isolement ou recherche de l'estime de soi en exprimant le pouvoir sur une victime d'homicide.
