Ornithischia
Ornithischia ou Predentata est un ordre éteint de dinosaures herbivores à bec. Le nom ornithischia est dérivé de l'ornitheos grec signifiant 'd'un oiseau' et ischion signifiant 'articulation de la hanche'. Ils sont connus sous le nom de dinosaures «oiseaux-hippopotames» en raison de leur structure de hanche semblable à un oiseau, même si les oiseaux appartiennent réellement aux dinosaures «lézards-éclaboussés». Certains Ornithischiens couramment connus incluent les dinosaures aux cornes, les dinosaures blindés, Iguanodon et les dinosaures «à bec de canard». Étant des herbivores qui vivaient parfois dans les troupeaux, ils étaient plus nombreux que les saurischiens. Beaucoup étaient des animaux de proie pour les theropods et étaient généralement plus petits que les sauropodes.
