Post-impressionnisme
Le post-impressionnisme est le terme inventé par l'artiste britannique et critique d'art Roger Fry en 1910 pour décrire le développement de l'art français depuis Manet. Fry a utilisé le terme lorsqu'il a organisé l'exposition Manet et les post-impressionnistes de 1910. Les post-impressionnistes ont étendu l'impressionnisme tout en rejetant ses limites: ils ont continué à utiliser des couleurs vives, souvent une application épaisse de la peinture et des matières de la vie réelle, mais ils étaient plus enclins à souligner les formes géométriques, à déformer la forme pour l'effet expressif et à utiliser de manière non naturelle Ou une couleur arbitraire.
