La Financial Services Authority était un organisme quasi judiciaire responsable de la réglementation du secteur des services financiers au Royaume-Uni entre 2001 et 2013. Son conseil d'administration a été nommé par le Trésor, bien qu'il fonctionnait indépendamment du gouvernement. Il a été structuré comme une société limitée par garantie et a été entièrement financé par les frais facturés au secteur des services financiers. En raison de l'échec réglementaire perçu des banques au cours de la crise financière de 2007-2008, le gouvernement britannique a décidé de restructurer la réglementation financière et d'abolir la FSA. Le 19 décembre 2012, la Financial Services Act 2012 a reçu la sanction royale, abolissant la FSA à compter du 1er avril 2013. Ses responsabilités ont ensuite été réparties entre deux nouvelles agences et la Banque d'Angleterre. Jusqu'à son abolition, Lord Turner d'Ecchinswell était le président de la FSA et Hector Sants était PDG jusqu'à la fin du mois de juin 2012, après avoir annoncé sa démission le 16 mars 2012. Son bureau principal était à Canary Wharf, à Londres, avec un autre bureau à Edimbourg.
