Membrane séreuse
Dans l'anatomie, la membrane séreuse est une membrane lisse constituée d'une mince couche de cellules qui sécrètent un fluide séreux et une couche épithéliale mince sous-jacente. Le nom anatomique latin est la tunique serosa. Les membranes serives alignent et entourent plusieurs cavités corporelles, connues sous le nom de cavités séreuses, où elles sécrètent un fluide lubrifiant qui réduit le frottement du mouvement musculaire. Serosa est entièrement différent de l'adventice, une couche de tissu conjonctif qui lie les structures plutôt que de réduire les frottements entre elles. La membrane séreuse qui recouvre le cœur et la doublure du médiastin est appelée le péricardium, la membrane séreuse qui recouvre la cavité thoracique et entourant les poumons est appelée la plèvre et la doublure de la cavité abdominopélvique et les viscères sont appelées le péritoine .
