Somatique
Le terme «moyens somatiques» du corps - relatif au corps distinct de l'esprit, de l'âme ou de l'esprit. En médecine, la maladie somatique est corporelle, non mentale, maladie. Le terme est souvent utilisé en biologie pour désigner les cellules du corps, contrairement aux cellules de la lignée germinale qui donnent habituellement naissance aux gamètes. Ces cellules somatiques sont diploïdes contenant deux copies de chaque chromosome, tandis que les cellules germinales sont haploïdes car elles ne contiennent qu'une copie de chaque chromosome. Bien que, dans des circonstances normales, toutes les cellules somatiques d'un organisme contiennent un ADN identique, elles développent une variété de caractéristiques spécifiques des tissus. Ce processus s'appelle la différenciation, par des modifications épigénétiques et réglementaires. Le regroupement de cellules et de tissus similaires crée la base pour les organes. Les mutations somatiques sont des modifications de la génétique d'un organisme multicellulaire qui ne sont pas transmises à sa progéniture à travers la ligne germinale. Beaucoup de cancers sont des mutations somatiques. La somatique est également définie comme relative à la paroi de la cavité du corps, en particulier en distinguant de la tête, des membres ou des viscères.
