Erreur standard
L'erreur standard est l'écart-type de la distribution d'échantillonnage d'une statistique. Le terme peut également être utilisé pour désigner une estimation de cet écart type, dérivée d'un échantillon particulier utilisé pour calculer l'estimation. Par exemple, l'échantillon signifie l'estimateur habituel d'une moyenne de population. Cependant, différents échantillons tirés de cette même population auraient en général des valeurs différentes de la moyenne de l'échantillon, de sorte qu'il y a une répartition des moyens échantillonnés. L'erreur-type de la moyenne est l'écart-type de ces moyens d'échantillonnage sur tous les échantillons possibles tirés de la population. Deuxièmement, l'erreur standard de la moyenne peut se référer à une estimation de cet écart-type, calculé à partir de l'échantillon de données analysées à l'époque. Dans l'analyse de régression, le terme "erreur standard" est également utilisé dans l'expression erreur type de la régression pour désigner l'estimation des moindres carrés ordinaires de l'écart type des erreurs sous-jacentes.
