Suakin
Suakin ou Sawakin est un port du nord-est du Soudan, sur la côte ouest de la mer Rouge. Suakin était au sommet du luxe médiéval sur la mer Rouge. En 1983, il avait une population de 18 030 et l'estimation de 2009 est de 43, 337. Ce fut autrefois le principal port de la région, mais est maintenant secondaire à Port-Soudan, à environ 30 milles au nord. La vieille ville construite en coraux est en ruine. Les ferries courent quotidiennement de Suakin à Jeddah en Arabie Saoudite.
