Uré-formaldéhyde
L'urée-formaldéhyde, également connu sous le nom d'urée-méthanal, nommé ainsi pour sa voie de synthèse commune et sa structure globale, est une résine ou un plastique thermodurcissable non transparent, fabriqué à partir d'urée et de formaldéhyde chauffé en présence d'une base douce telle que l'ammoniac ou la pyridine . Ces résines sont utilisées dans des adhésifs, des finis, des MDF et des objets moulés. Il a d'abord été synthétisé en 1884 par Hölzer, qui travaillait avec Bernhard Tollens. En 1919, Hanns John de Prague, en Tchécoslovaquie, a obtenu le premier brevet pour la résine d'urée-formaldéhyde.
